Old Black Movie Stars

Did women look more ravishingly beautiful in the old black & white films?

I've been watching some old b&w movies starring Elizabeth Taylor and Jennifer Jones. I think they look so much more beautiful than today's female stars! I don't think that Angelina or Scarlett could hold a candle to them.
