What Nightmare on Elm Street films do you recommend I watch?

From what I've heard that the only ones worth watching are 1, 3 and 7. Is that true? Would it make sense if I just watch those three?

Me and my sister watched the 7th title in the series (New Nightmare) a while back at TV and thought it was great. I liked very much the idea of slipping between the reality and the dreamworld, in which Freddy lives and feeds on people's fears. Years later I got a special present from my sister...The entire DVD collection. The very next weekend I watched all of them in order. Most of the movies were great. The best titles in my opinion were the 1st (A Nightmare on Elm Street), 3rd (Dream Warriors), 4th (The Dream Master), 5h (The Dream Child). I didn't find the 7th part to be as good as I remembered it, but overall was a good movie. The 2nd (Freddy's Revenge) and the 6th (Freddy's Dead) were a bit disappointing. The 2nd one is somehow out of the context, it's just a standalone story who happens to have Freddy in it. All the other titles are interconnected and together they make up a great story. It's very interesting how the people evolve to such degree, that they are not only defying Freddy, they actually fight him in his own domain. Freddy himself is a great character, I can never get enough of his angry and childish attitude. He's like a teenager in a candy store. I try not to keep this answer too long, so 'll also mention an 8th title (Freddy Vs Jason), which is also great. Jason the main character from the Friday The 13th series meets Freddy from A Nightmare on Elm Street and people are caught in the middle of their conflict.
As a conclusion, if you want not to miss anything you should watch all 8 movies in order. If you want to see only the good stuff, I'd recommend the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th and maybe the 7th and 8th.

There are just a few occasions in the year that is worth living up to. That often means sprucing the house, getting the family and friends together, preparing a festive meal, or just getting into the fun of things. Christmas and New Year celebrations come to mind.

Yes, that's another time of the year that for many cultures, signal the coming Christmas holidays. It's supposed to be a scary occasion to remind us about death and all the ugly stuff about it. But Halloween has grown to be a festive celebration of what is scary. On its own,
Halloween is celebrated in many cultures with just about the same fervor as any holiday. Christmas and Halloween are probably as old as each other. They are the two major pagan celebrations that have been absorbed into the Christian traditions when Christianity spread over the British Isles in the early middle ages.

Online Trick or Treat?
No, there's none yet. But who knows. With virtually all the commercial and educational activities happening on the internet, traditions like the time-honored trick or treat just might make a debut online so that kids don't have to get out of the house come fright night. It may rob the fun out of it, but for convenience-centric 21st century, a more convenient trick or treat is always welcome. GP
