Star Wars expanded universe books?

Im looking for EU books ive only read the jedi academy series. I really like the sith stuff so if there is anything about when the sith was larger or about the golden age of the republic ive got a thing for stuff before the movies.

There are two recent books about the history of the Sith, and I am sure there will be more in this series. I read and greatly enjoyed the first book, and will be reading the second one when I get a chance.

The first book is Path of Destruction, the first book in the Darth Bane series and is followed by Rule of Two. They were written by Drew Karpyshyn.

They take place about 1000 years before the events of Episode 4. They detail the struggle between the Jedi and the Sith and explain a lot of Sith legend and lore. Even though the books are fairly dark, they are very well written and the story is good. You will probably enjoy these.

Another series that I recently read and enjoyed are the Republic Commando books by Karen Traviss. These take place after Episode II and center on the exploits of a couple units of clone troopers. I recommend these books also, but check out the Darth Bane series first, since you are a fan of the Sith.
