Why does Yoda in The Empire Strikes Back act like a Goofball?

When Yoda first meets Luke In The Empire Strikes Back, he acts like a complete fool, throwing stuff around, stealing Luke's dinner, and acting immature. Why does he do this? It certainly is not the way of Jedi especially The Grand Master and yet he calls Luke reckless. He sure does not practice what he preaches... Some Jedi Master..
Yes, I have indeed watched and own all 6 movies. Yet since Yoda is portrayed in the prequels as a "Wise" Jedi Master, surely he would not himself act reckless.

it was a test. he wanted to see how Luke acted when he wasn't trying to impress a great Jedi Master. He wanted to find out more about Luke before he committed himself. He wanted to see how Luke would respond when his patience was tested.

Playing a fool doesn't make anyone reckless. At no point was he acting reckless or impatient or undignified. Reckless means you are acting without care for the consequences. At no point was Yoda risking anyone or anything. At no point did he create a situation he couldn't control merely by revealing his true identity. Being a great Jedi Master doesn't mean you walk around putting on a show for everyone else all the time.
